Technology and Fashion - Game Boy Shoes

Submitted by admin on Wednesday, 29 April 2009No Comment

In the ultimate merger of Technology and Fashion, these funky boots are highly popular with teens all over Japan. I don’t know if i’d be seen wearing them though. Surprisingly the Gameboys are still playable! Just pop it out and play, anytime anywhere. To kick off the program ‘Nintendo’s 2001 Style Campaign’, the gameco commissioned orthopedic footwear expert Helen Red Richards to give new meaning to the term ‘platforms’. Enter Game Boy shoes and boots. Far from functional-or maybe too functional, depending on how you look at it-these new styles for gamer girls sport Game Boys set into the heel or main body of the shoe. The shoes are also color-coordinated in hues like pink, green, purple and turquoise to match their handheld console add-ons. There’s a Game Boy for each foot, so fun can be had by more than one gamer.

The shoes have been exhibited in some U.K. art galleries since the end of 2000, and can only be ordered through Nintendo.
